Culbokie has a thriving range of community and youth groups, including
Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Senior Section (see the Guiding in Culbokie
website), Beavers, Cubs, Badminton, Playgroup and the Senior Citizens

Archeology
For the historically minded, the Pictish trail and standing
stones are both local attractions for those with archeology in their
bones! Also Nigg Church is host to one of Scotland’s greatest art
treasures - an 8th century Pictish cross-slab which has been
admired and studied by scholars all over the world.
Glenmorangie Whisky
is a famous name in the Scot whisky world
and the distillery tours and a factory shop are available for those that
fancy a "dram".

In 1989, the
Royal Society for the Protection of Birds
imported six from
nests in Southern Sweden and released these on the Black Isle, north of
Inverness – a very fertile area.
In 1999, the programme appears to have been a complete success with an
established population of 30 breeding pairs fledging 54 chicks from 23
nests.
Since 1989, a total of 223 chicks have been fledged from Red Kite nests in
the Black Isle. The birds have now been reintroduced to parts of Central
Scotland and England where they seem certain to do equally well.

Wildlife spotting
Moray Firth Dolphins.
Boat trips can be
taken from Avoch Harbour Seals and the numerous sea birds are
also popular.
Red Kite can often be spotted around our home and you are quite likely to see deer.
Harder to spot are the Otters along the coast and the Pine Martens in the
forest.
For some great photos of the local wildlife go to

Dolphin and seal trips can be taken from Avoch harbour.
